Marjha Golding
Marjha qualified as a solicitor in May 2010 and now practises in the family law department.
Marjha obtained her LLB in Law from Nottingham Law School in 2007 and completed the Legal Practice Course in June 2008. During her degree, Marjha joined Hopkin Murray Beskine for a year long work placement, primarily in the family department. She returned to university to complete her final year and went on to complete the LPC at the College of Law, passing with distinction.
Marjha worked closely with the National Centre for Domestic Violence during her LPC and is a member of the London Young Lawyers Group and Young Legal Aid Lawyers. Marjha is also learning sign language and hopes to reach a level where she can advise deaf clients without the need for an interpreter.
Against stiff competition Marjha was selected by Hopkin Murray Beskine to become a trainee and was awarded a place under the Legal Services Commission’s trainee solicitor scheme. In July 2008, Marjha commenced her position as a trainee Solicitor in the housing department. She moved to the family department in November 2009.
Marjha has a substantial and varied caseload in family law, including representing parents involved in contact or residence disputes, advice regarding domestic violence issues and emergency action, along with divorce matters. Marjha represents the firm within a number of domestic violence groups and organisations, and is a regular pro-bono advisor for the local domestic violence advice and support centre.
