Jeremy Brown

Jeremy completed his law degree at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, in 2007, where he graduated with first class honours and ranked top of his year. He went on to complete his LLM in Law Society and Culture at SOAS, with distinction. Jeremy was called to the Bar in 2009 by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, where he was awarded the Joseph Jackson scholarship for family law.

Jeremy is a teaching fellow at SOAS. He teaches and lectures in ethnic minorities in English law. Jeremy has an interest in Islamic Law, Hindu Law and family laws of various ethnic minority communities, including transnational family law customs and the laws of South Asian jurisdictions.

Jeremy joined Hopkin Murray Beskine as a paralegal in January 2010. He assists in the casework of Sarah Beskine, Barbara Hopkin, Celene Boatswain, Heike Zentner and Sarah Bold. Jeremy has taken particular interest in domestic violence cases and cases with an international element.

Previously, Jeremy volunteered for the Legal Advice Centre at the College of Law throughout his bar studies. He is currently the founding project director of a pro bono scheme aimed at miscarriages of justice at SOAS, under the umbrella of a national organisation.
