Sarah Beskine

Sarah Beskine is one of the founding partners of Hopkin Murray Beskine. She graduated with a First from University College Cardiff and qualified as a solicitor in 1989. She has a varied family law case load in all aspects of family law. Sarah also manages the mediation department, and is a part of our management team.

Sarah has extensive experience in all fields of Family Law. Before specialising in Family Law, Sarah undertook housing and family work. She set up and developed our Housing Department.

Sarah enjoys undertaking a range of cases, from the relatively straightforward, to the highly complex. She often receives referrals of complex cases which carry large amounts of professional information or detailed histories of past events. Sarah is particularly capable at identifying the core relevant issues so that her clients can make informed decisions at key stages.

Sarah is a trained and experienced mediator, undertaking her training at North London Family Mediation Service. She established Hopkin Murray Beskine’s Mediation Department and obtained a contract from the Legal Services Commission so that the Mediation team can offer publicly funded mediation in the Practice, as well as mediation to privately paying clients.

As part of the Management Team, Sarah has shared responsibility for Legal Services Commission compliance. Within the family team, she trains and supervises family Paralegals and trainees. Working alongside Ann Thompson, Sarah is involved in expanding and developing the financial casework of the family team.

Additionally, Sarah conceived of an innovative online referral diary system, called Nellbooker, to assist client referrals. Working with partners Ben Chataway and Lesley Curtis to develop the system, Hopkin Murray Beskine has been shortlisted for the Law Society Excellence Award (Social Responsible) 2008 for the Nellbooker work. Sarah was nominated for Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year 2007.
